KINSMAN TOWNSHIP

Police Department

Kinsman Township Police is a part-time department with various shift patrols who are very active in the community.  We work in conjunction with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office on investigations and patrol.  We focus on high visibility and community contact, providing property checks as well as senior/disabled contacts during regular patrol hours.  We take pride in two special programs--Shop With a Cop and Safety Forces Day, the latter in cooperation with Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department.

EVENTS

Golf Scramble

This event is held at the Bronzewood Golf Club with all its proceeds going to the Kinsman Police Department and its community programs. The day is filled with live music, a carry-out steak dinner, a Chinese auction, raffles, and a golf tournament with hole in one prizes ranging from a $500 gift card to a John Deere Gator! (prizes vary per year) The last event was held on Jun 25th, 2022! Thank you to all who attended and we can't wait to see you next time!

Shop with Cop

Collections and donations throughout the town as well as through generous residents in the community has made it possible for many local children to participate in a shopping spree at local cooperating businesses such as Cope Equipment, Ace Hardware, Kinsman IGA, and the Dollar General Store.  Children are escorted by local officers and complete the spree with a dinner provided by local eateries.

Gene Long Scholarship

Set up in memory of a long-time friend to the police community and father of Chief Leroy Long.  Monies collected during raffles at the Safety Forces Day go to provide a scholarship for local Criminal Justice majors.
